Job Overview

The VP Quality will direct and coordinate the total company activities for Quality to promote consensus and QES vision throughout CCCI; establish policy and direction for the Quality initiatives throughout the organization, with a pro-active rather than a reactive structure, those activities through a comprehensive training and auditing program for total company; provide training initiatives that support the company in developing supervisory bench strength, employee development, and technical training.

 

The VP Quality will direct and monitor product consumer complaints activity and resolve and reduce product liability cases; strategically plan for business continued growth, with a focus on consumer satisfaction and brand growth; is responsible for continuing education of industry and regulatory requirement changes, as well as the best practices relevant to the company; strategically plan for regulatory requirement changes and the methods used for institutionalizing and communicating these changes.

 

The VP Quality will support and maintain the sustainable system certifications for Food Safety and Quality throughout the company to meet customer and federal guidelines; create an environment conducive to continuous quality improvement and implement systems to nurture quality excellence; identify and drive cost out of the system through technology, training, and process improvements; communicate quality with the customers and suppliers to achieve quality excellence throughout the total supply chain. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set policies and direction for manufacturing, field operations, and sales as it relates to the Coca-Cola Company standards, as well as all federal and state agencies. Provide statistical and technical information to the total system with regards to performance goals.
  • Act as chief technical support for the company for Quality. Set quality, food, safety and regulatory compliance policies, and direction for manufacturing, supply and delivery.
  • Establish and seek technology to improve quality manufacturing and supply chain processes.
  • Act as Chief Company Liaison with The Coca-Cola Company for QES, FDA and state regulatory agencies.
  • Set direction through Supply Chain Team Managers to provide training goals and objectives for the department and develop deliverable training business plans.  
  • Oversee all business activities related to training activities, including budgetary expenditures and capital items.
  • Provide guidance to the Teams for development of appropriate scorecard to track effectiveness of delivered training to the Company.
  • Strategic planning to coordinate global training activities between the Supply Chain Support Department and the Division Learning Managers.
  • Provide planning strategies with the Team Leaders based on auditing results and analysis. Establish business plans with the Team Leaders to modify and improve processes for Sales and Supply Chain.
  • Support teams to drive quality and food safety through presenting results to the Executive Group, Supply Chain Officers and the Division Sales Management.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing to reduce consumer complaints. Track trends and make recommendations as to the cause. Attend various meetings with suppliers to resolve issues and support manufacturing.
  • Act as chief liaison with outside entities as it relates to the product recalls and retrievals. Coordinate any product recalls with Sales and Logistics.
  • Technical support for Sales and the ELT as it relates to quality, safety, environmental issues, product recalls and customer inquiries. 
  • Technical specialist as it relates to litigation and court appearances.
  • Work closely with CCCI SVP of Public Affairs to minimize adverse publicity as it relates to product quality, environmental issues, and safety. 
  • Manage Team Leaders to provide direction and support in the pursuit of certification.
  • Work closely with managers to establish a robust program and process that is a sustainable and auditable system for quality, safety, and environmental to support customer, brand and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of Supply Chain principles and processes: Purchasing, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain Logistics, as well as Sales
  • Basic knowledge or marketing concepts
  • Thorough knowledge of the workings of NAOU, FDA, GFSI, ISO, OSHA and other various governmental agencies
  • Thorough knowledge of engineering concepts, sanitation, HACCP and GMP programs
  • Statistical, financial anlysis, as well as accounting competencies
  • Ability to supply a consistent vision for quality and food safety for the company
  • Ability to work strategically across functional teams
  • Competency in the use of word processing, spreadsheet programs and network configurations
  • Ability to manage and facilitate diverse group of subordinates
  • Must have good presentation skills and the ability to speak to large groups
  • Ability to make decisions in a timely fashion and with clear understanding of possibly company exposure
  • Demonstrates a positive/professional demeanor
  • Possesses excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Possesses ability to communicate with all levels of the organization

Minimum Qualifications

  • 4 year degree in Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science
  • Valid Driver’s License – must maintain a good driving record 
  • Ten years of food and beverage experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relative industry FS, Quality and HACCP certifications
