Job Overview
The Master Data Specialist is responsible for ensuring data accuracy and integrity by performing daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines, keying data received from the requests and activities obtained through various logs and assigned work tasks. The MDM Specialist will conduct data entry and maintain master data in SAP and numerous related tables and, or lists; This position will also ensure that the hundreds of thousands of records are complete and accurate, adhere to the consistent application and documentation of governance rules and maintenance processes, and ensure all supporting data structures are properly configured and up to date.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains master data records in SAP to the highest level of accuracy by ensuring each data set is comprised of the unique attributes, corresponding exceptions, and are consistently maintained across multiple systems to enable timely and accurate sales and reporting integrity, while other business needs without disruption or error
- Monitors data for accuracy, validity, and completeness, while also correcting as needed by following established routine verification procedures and providing feedback to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the processes
- Maintaining current knowledge of the 50+ procedures and hundreds of exceptions that must be incorporated as well as the external data repositories to locate any needed data required to make business decisions
- Reviewing system interfaces to analyze issues and take appropriate corrective action, including routine weekend monitoring of sales interfaces as needed
- Supports the correction of master data-related system interruptions by responding to and resolving assigned incidents in a timely fashion
- Submitting and tracking remedies to correct systems issues when other resources are involved, and determining root causes of problems
- Provide expertise to various internal stakeholders to resolve and then prevent further failures
- Maintains standard and custom tables, and background data feeds through the utilization of specific applications and templates for mass data creations and updates in SAP
- Partners with the business data requestors to ensure consistency and accuracy of master data and provides insights on improving the performance of numerous business processes (planning, new product development, accounting, accounts payable, technical service, plant operations, accounts receivable, Customer Care Center) through continuous improvement of the master data as well as system performance
- Undertakes various master data projects directed at identifying and recommending continuous improvement initiatives

Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Knowledge acquired through up to 12 months of work experience
Preferred Qualifications
- SAP experience is preferred
