Job Description

The Manager - Management Systems is responsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Management System for Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment and reporting on the management system to top management for review and as a basis for continual improvement.

What your day will look like:

  • Manage authorization and control of management system documents (SOP’s, forms, etc.)
  • Extensive documentation and data entry to monitor customer, Company, legal, and regulatory requirements, manage necessary changes, and ensure processes are updated to ensure compliance to the requirements
  • Collaborate with the management team to facilitate the implementation and sustainability of the Management System for Quality, Food Safety, Occupational Safety & Health, and Environment
  • Analyze processes and systems to identify and suggest opportunities for improvement projects and facilitate the continual improvement program including corrective and preventive actions
  • Train and assist departmental champions to utilize associate involvement in the development of documentation (SOP’s, work aids, forms, records, etc.) relating to their respective job function
  • Facilitate and implement processes for conducting and tracking associate training
  • Manage authorization and control of management system documents (SOP’s, forms, etc.)
  • Facilitate internal auditor training, manage the internal audit schedule, and program and assist in conducting internal audits
  • Communicate the findings of internal and external audits to the management staff of the facility and Corporate Quality and ensure that all non-conformances are addressed and corrected in a timely manner
  • Communicate, collaborate, and benchmark with other Management Systems Managers and support personnel to share best practices
  • Work with Corporate Quality to monitor customer, Company, legal, and regulatory requirements, manage necessary changes, and ensure processes are updated to ensure compliance to the requirements

What you need to succeed:

  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Ability to read, write and speak English 
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 4 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
  • Previous International Organization for Standardization - ISO management system experience preferred
  • Previous management/supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize continuous improvement methodologies (lean six sigma, TQM, SPC, etc.)
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills (processes and systems)
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and facilitate cross-functional teams
  • Ability to lead and drive change within the organization
  • Excellent organizational, planning, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks and/or projects with various deadlines
  • Repeated sitting
