General Purpose

Key advisor and financial business partner to Operating Unit Finance Leadership. Finance HQ lead on Long Term Planning, Annual Planning, rolling estimates and monthly financial results for OPEX (including HQ departmental OPEX and Labor). Monitors and communicates adherence to financial controls and consistent execution of standard business processes within the Operating Unit. Coordinates closing/forecast/planning activities with Headquarters and Market Unit finance leaders. Accountable for stewardship of Annual Budget process for the HQ and provide strategic guidance for MU level Labor and OPEX. Leads Southwest’s card programs, including T&E cards, Purchasing Cards and Fuel Cards, and the audits of T&E and Purchasing Cards expense reimbursements.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide Financial insight to OPEX results on a Monthly/Quarterly/Annual perspective 
  • Identify Risk / Opportunities 
  • T&E, Fuel and Purchasing Card administrator
  • Labor Core Team member
  • Financial forecasting and planning model leader and administrator
  • Finance liaison for HQ functional leads (HR, IT, Legal, Public Affairs, Finance, HQ Sales)
  • Develop monthly close process for communicating OPEX performance results to CCSWB leadership 
  • Collaborate with SSC, HQ Finance team, and Market Unit Finance team around month end close, quarter-end, year-end close and other OPEX related activities
  • Collaborate with all team members of HQ, MUs and other functional leads in development of Annual Business Plan for OPEX
  • Monitor and communicate adherence to internal controls and consistent execution of standard business processes within CCSWB
  • Analyze and determine which areas within CCSWB that pose great financial risk and partner with the business to develop action plans 
Qualifications
  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance 
  • MBA/CPA Preferred   
  • Five to ten years of related business experience 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) 
  • Proven people leadership skills  
  • Preferred soft drink industry or consumer packaged goods experience 
  • Preferred 5+ years of experience in business planning and analysis, along with P&L management 
  • Preferred experience in preparing financial information for use by non-financial managers
