General Purpose

The Human Resource Generalist has both administrative and strategic responsibility, mainly in the function of Employee Relations, but also helping to plan and administer HR functions such as training and development, compliance, engagement events and benefits.  The HR Generalist is relied on for their detail-oriented processes and interpersonal skill to help administer various HR initiatives for internal and external personnel. 
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support one team HR mindset by using customer-focused approach to deliver HR solutions through effective partnerships across Employee Relations, the HR organization, and other supporting functions as necessary.
  • Partner with Human Resources partners and management in providing HR support and ER subject matter expertise to recommend appropriate action to resolve employee disputes and concerns.
  • Engage in proactive, strategic approach to ER by identifying employee relations trends, recommending solutions that address root-cause of potential ER issues, and partnering with leadership on developing and executing action plans.
  • Identify, investigate, and resolve issues of employee concern or conflict in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate account of investigation with timely memorialization of the notes and supporting documents into the HR case management system.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders; partner with colleagues inside and outside of HR to innovate, enhance, align and drive the effectiveness of HR initiatives.
  • Provide regular and proactive communication to local HR and management around cases in assigned area. 
  • Maintain and support positive employee relations within assigned MU where associate experience is monitored, and recommendations made.
  • Help drive implementation of function-wide HR programs within assigned associate groups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Manage projects on an as need basis.
  • 3 plus years of HR experience
  • Experience in working in a manufacturing / high velocity warehouse / sales operations environment.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Persuasive communication and interpersonal relationship management skills with all levels of employees.
  • Possesses a bias for action and sense of urgency, while able to prioritize and juggle multiple tasks.
  • Experience and comfort in working in a fast-paced, ever-changing business environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literate with MS Office, advanced Excel and other related business and communication tools.
  • Fantastic organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
