Finance Specialist I

General Purpose

This Financial Specialist – Cost position will report to the Supply Chain Finance Manager – Manufacturing and will be responsible for performing the following:
Primary responsibility for operations finance functions including month, quarter, and year-end close and variance analysis.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing support to the Finance Manager for Manufacturing.
  • Support management reporting process which includes the production of management reports, dashboards, and variance analysis to provide key insight on the manufacturing centers.
  • Ad-Hoc analysis that explains business changes and key findings based on technical analysis of data from various financial sources.
  • Provide analysis and support for various expense drivers in relation to manufacturing spend
  • Prepare month-end commentary and other ad-hoc reporting related to financial results.
  • Participates in yearly planning and budgeting process.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years of financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience or a related analytical field.
  • BA/BS in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a highly analytical field (e.g., Engineering, Math, and Computer Science)
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, SAP and financial modeling

Preferred:

  • An MBA or MS in Finance or a related field.
  • Experience in CPG industry working with supply chain operation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — including written and oral communication skills.
  • Desire to investigate and truly understand the story, accounting rules, etc. behind each line item in the P&L.
  • Ability to interpret and present data in a visually compelling format to financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • High level of intellectual curiosity that drives sense of ownership and desire for continuous improvement.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and with all levels of management.
