Cyber Security Architect

General Purpose

This role has the responsibility to manage IT requirements and solution deployment associated with Cybersecurity and HIPAA Compliance. This includes cross-functional review and fit/gap assessment of all requirements, ensuring alignment of architecture solutions across all process/domain areas.  The IT Solution architect will also advise on business projects with connectivity requirements that need to be secured to ensure CCSWB is adequately protected from cyber security threats and risks. This role is also responsible for validating HIPPA Compliance is met for all associated IT software solutions.


The incumbent must have the ability to manage multiple process and solutions development initiatives within their functional/technical area(s).


This role will have the ability to create, champion, and drive the development and deployment of new solutions, services, and technologies that align with agreed guiding principles, strategy, and destination architecture.

Duties and Responsibilities

•    Anticipates obstacles and risks and proactively develops options to effectively solve problems and strategies to mitigate risk
•    Establishes and manages Cybersecurity processes and procedures to control and minimize Cybersecurity threats and risks
•    Develops productive working relationships with client area, cross-functional teams and/or groups
•    Coordinates across Shared Services, CCBSS, Business functions, CONA and AC-IT Cybersecurity Operations on cybersecurity architecture and operations standards, modifications, and enhancements
•    Ensures the performance and the reliability of cybersecurity threat and risk mitigation capabilities on CONA and non-CONA applications
•    Collaborates with CONA Security and Identity Management (IDM) Teams to define user requirements, prepare detailed specifications, coordinating system-wide testing updates on CONA applications access, Single Sign-On (SSO) methodologies and Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) processes
•    Provides recommendations for enhancements/changes that may involve custom design, and third-party products to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of CCSWB Cybersecurity protection solutions
•    Manages all aspects of the design and implementation of Security standards, policies and procedures to ensure CCSWB threat surface is minimized
•    Provides level 3 suport ticket resolution and coordinate and monitor the Application Managed Service (AMS) for level 3 tickets for all cybersecurity services for CCSWB Employees, (Firewall rules, Mult-Factor Authentication, Mobile Threat Protection, etc). Respond and resolve business tickets in a timely manner, partnering with CONA, CCBSS and AC Central teams to escalate and deliver a solution•    Consult with and advise users on technology changes that will impact Cybersecurity risk and threat management
•    Coordinates with CONA, AC – IT, and third-party vendors to document and test disaster recovery (DR) plans
•    Maintains and improves the Cyber Response Plan to continuously assess the cyber threat landscape to reduce potential impact to CCSWB’s software solution landscape and associated business processes
•    Analyze, advise, and test CONA releases related to Cybersecurity, raising defects, tracking progress and ensure business continuity
•    Coordinate and manage third party vendors to ensure end-user support and new project implementations are delivered so as not to cause impact to the business, project timeline and the project budget
•    Consult users on technology changes that will impact work processes
•    Manage all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects by stewarding projects from original concept through final implementation in compliance with the AC Software Development Lifecycle Methodology (SDLC)
•    Performs process analysis and re-engineering with an understanding of technical challenges and solution complexity as they relate to the current and future business environment
•    Designs solutions that ensure most sustainable, flexible and cost appropriate solutions & technology platforms
•    Ensure documentation, deliverables, and governance follows standard architecture management process and delivers expected results
•    Drives results, effectively collaborates with and influences others and works across all areas of the Company as necessary


  1. Education:
  • B.S. or B.A. in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related business process area required
  • Related Masters’ degree preferred


  1. Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an IT technical Cyber Security functional role
  • 2 years’ experience with IT Operations Management
