About This Opportunity

 

The Senior Manager, Operations is responsible for the overall management and co-ordination of various manufacturing functions within a single facility. Manufacturing management experience should reflect an understanding of the impact factory performance has in the areas of delivery, cost, quality, and service. This role may require knowledge and deployment of state-of-the-art-manufacturing practices (including continuous flow) as well as quality and continuous improvement techniques, strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent communication, interpersonal effectiveness, and leadership. The Senior Manager, Manufacturing Operations is also involved in human resources matters including labour relations. The role will also include development for future Plant Manager opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute 18-month business plans supporting local objectives including the development and implementation of strategies, processes, and programs.
  • Motivate, direct, coach and develop a diverse, high performing operations team to meet established goals and organizational capability.
  • Effectively translate department goals and objectives to all levels of the organization ensuring alignment on relevant performance data.
  • Routinely review business results with operations personnel to maximize plant performance.
  • Foster an environment that supports an engaged safety culture.
  • Develop a culture that embraces the tenets of operational excellence such as leading Autonomous Maintenance or Focused Improvement Pillars.
  • Adopt and share best ideas with peers across Supply Chain.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes are compliant with company specifications and meet customer expectations.
  • Satisfy the needs and service requirements of the internal and external customers.
  • Ensure compliance to company and regulatory policies.

Qualifications

  • National Geo-Mobility
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Business or related technical field or combination of education/relevant work experience
  • At least 8 years of increasing levels of manager roles of people and process. Food or Beverage manufacturing experience (at least half)
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety, Environment, Health and Safety ISO Standards or other management systems
  • TPM (Total Productive Manufacturing) / Lean, Six Sigma 
  • Expertise in principles of operations, specific supply chain capabilities, strategies, and interdependencies
  • Expertise in key business drivers used to gauge the effectiveness and performance of an internal group or supplier 
  • Ability to collaborate cross functionally and coordinate efforts around continuous improvement
