About This Opportunity
Coke Canada's Public Affairs & Communications (PAC) team's vision is to be at the forefront for how bottlers build and manage their reputations globally. The role of the PAC team is to unearth and share the Coke Canada story internally and externally in a relatable (and sharable) way. The PAC team collectively works to be agents of change, drivers of the reinvention of the company using facts and data, and help build, enhance and earn the company’s social license to operate.
Reporting to the Director of Public Affairs, this role will support the company’s stakeholder engagement and community programs, playing a key role in building and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry partners, and community organizations. This role involves coordinating and monitoring outreach efforts, tracking policy developments, and ensuring alignment between corporate initiatives and government priorities.
Additionally, you will oversee external recognition programs and manage the administration of the PAC team budget, including financial coordination as needed. This position is instrumental in fostering relationships with external stakeholders to enhance the company’s engagement and advocacy efforts.
Responsibilities
Government Relations Support and Coordination
- Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with government officials, industry associations, advocacy groups, and other external stakeholders and community organizations.
- Maintain & update stakeholder and government contact lists and Your Local Bottler data points for all key priority markets as well as national, provincial and municipal stakeholders.
- Monitor and analyze government policies, legislation, and regulations that impact the company including stakeholder social media.
- Assist in implementing strategies to proactively influence, educate, and inform government and stakeholder audiences.
- Support the preparation of briefing materials, reports, and presentations for meetings with government and community stakeholders
- Execute plans to promote the company with external audiences, including events, targeted engagement, thought leadership and meetings.
- Provide government and stakeholder support for national community relations partnerships/activities.
Communications and Business Enablement
- Local Bottler Awards – identify and coord0inate administration of external recognition opportunities to reflect the progress we’re making on our Vision, Mission, and growth story.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of Coke Canada’s operations and collaborate with SMEs from various functional and technical areas to create and deploy stakeholder communications materials in a timely manner.
- Support Director and VP with any other ad hoc stakeholder requests as needed.
- PAC Team Budget/Finance management and coordination.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in a corporate or government environment
- Understanding of and experience within government is critical.
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Oral and written fluency in English and French
- Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline, including Communications, Political Science, or Commerce, or a combination of equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel and Microsoft Tools (including Yammer, Teams, SharePoint, Stream)
- Basic understanding of procurement tools and processes (SAP, ARIBA, Process Director)
- Understanding of accounting concepts
- Excellent verbal & strategic written communications skills
- Savvy about current and emerging social media channels and trends, someone who is on top of what is
- happening in the news
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Previous experience in the food and beverage sector is an asset.
