The Content Specialist, Public Affairs and Communications is responsible for the establishment, maintenance and fulfillment of Coke Canada Bottling’s integrated content calendar servicing internal and external audiences. Using video and audio technology as well as communications theory, the Content Specialist develops video assets, audio assets, graphic design assets and written assets enabling the Coke Canada story to come to life creatively.  

 

Reporting to Vice President, Public Affairs and Communications, the Content Specialist is primarily responsible for managing the development, adaptation, gathering, creating and publishing of content via various channels, including (but not limited to): corporate intranet, digital signage, internal emails, LinkedIn, Town Halls, media relations and face-to-face meetings.  The position also supports programs and tools designed to increase employee engagement and external stakeholder awareness.

Responsibilities

Support culture through compelling content that aligns to company narrative

  • Leads development and maintenance of content calendar and adherence to deadlines.
  • Operationalize relationships with key stakeholders and SMEs to enable content creation and support calendar priorities.
  • Implement, evolve and create content for internal, executive and external communications.
  • Contributes to the execution of the department’s strategic business plan and overall communication values.

Internal Communications 

  • Develop messaging that is consistent with company strategy and business priorities for use in all content. 
  • Establish consistent and sustainable internal quarterly content communications routines 
  • Implement and manage E-team content plan

Company Messaging 

  • Support development of messaging to key internal/external audiences to assure consistency to drive strategic departmental and business priorities. 
  • Work closely with The Coca-Cola Company internal communications teams and content teams to assure consistency in messaging to drive System priorities. 
  • Collaborates with other Public Affairs team members to ensure consistency of communications across channels. 
  • Develop and maintain network of internal sources for use in story development and planning, and work collaboratively with other members of the department to share new information.

Content Creation

  • Manage production of internal videos, photography, podcasts, written articles, creative assets (ie posters) and internal and executive communications presentations. 
  • Produce, write and edit Unite Canada newsletter.
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum four year degree (BBA or BA) with an interest in journalism, communications, a/v production and/or business required.
  • 5 – 7 years of public affairs/communications experience required
  • Publication development/audio-visual production and graphic design experience preferred. 
  • Excellent verbal and strategic written communication skills are critical. 
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with persons at every level of operation at the Company. 
  • Self-starter. Highly motivated individual with demonstrated initiative and attention to detail and proven project management skills. 
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to consistently deliver quality projects on time and within budget. 
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. 
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. 
  • Ability to deliver and continuously improve capability to: develop and edit videos, develop and edit audio content, write and product articles, take photos, develop basic graphic designs assets.
  • Computer Skills Required: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Internet research.
