About This Opportunity

 

The Senior Procurement Specialist with report directly into a Procurement Director and work closing with the business in the Brampton market. The Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for supporting the Procurement Capability Strategy, with a particular focus on training, systems & tools, managing SharePoint site, managing general procurement mailbox, supporting the Procurement Policy and supporting various project management work that supports our Procurement team and overall company goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

 

•    Interact with key stakeholders in identifying business needs, building relationships and selling the features and benefits of early procurement involvement. 
•    Develop detailed sourcing and category plans to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.   
•    Manage preparation, implementation and execution of procurement processes. 
•    Implement procurement processes to ensure efficiency, cost savings and best practices. 
•    Work with finance team throughout the procurement cycle to assist with forecasting and budgeting. 
•    Assist Vendor Manager in vendor selection, management and performance. 
•    Perform sourcing, liaising and negotiating with new and existing suppliers to improve business. 
•    Re-negotiate contracts with suppliers to produce better savings and further value for spend. 
•    Create documentations necessary for the acquisition of materials and services.
•    Provide outstanding customer service and ensure customer satisfaction. 
•    Review supplier’s performance to ensure compliance with company procedures and best procurement practice. 
•    Provide updates about procurement related progress and potential delays daily to the Business Manager. 
•    Maintain positive working relationships with strategic suppliers to assure cost, quality, and delivery targets are met. 
•    Analyze market and delivery trends to develop procurement technologies and processes that support those trends
 

Qualifications

 

•    Post-secondary education
•    SCMP or equivalent designation preferred (or in progress obtaining) 
•    4-8 years of analytic, procurement or supply chain experience 
•    Must have strong data analytics experience 
•    Considerable knowledge of procurement methods and procedures 
•    Exposure to the commodity markets and trends. 
•    Considerable knowledge of supplier score carding and KPI matrix  
•    Ability to influence and maintain a collaborative working relationship with key stakeholders
