About This Opportunity

 

Reporting to the Finance Manager - the finance specialist will be responsible for ongoing Credit Risk management and Direct Administration of Credit Approvals, Credit Limits, 3rd Party Collections and Bankruptcies working with the Canada Collections Team including Specialist – Collections & Deductions, Finance Manager – Financial Services,  Sr. Director – Finance | Treasury and in consulation with Sales VP’s.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in reporting and credit analysis and/or collections experience. 

Responsibilities

 

•    Responsible for ongoing Credit Risk management and Direct Administration of Credit Approvals, Credit Limits, 3rd Party Collections and Bankruptcies working with the Canada Collections Team including Specialist – Collections & Deductions, Finance Manager – Financial Services,  Sr. Director – Finance | Treasury and in consulation with Sales VP’s
•    Credit Approvals - investigate and analyze the credit worthiness of all credit requests received from Customers utilizing information obtained from the company, financial institutions and credit agencies, when required, in accordance with the company's credit guidelines
•    Credit Risk Review – on an ongoing basis, using a risk weighted approach, review and identify Customers with a high default risk and, in accordance with Sales Leadership, action appropriately based on nature of Customer including changes to Credit Terms, Payment Plans and Supply Hold
•    Credit Limits – based on review of Customer and/or Channel determine appropriate Credit Limits, implement and maintain 
•    Bankruptcies – work closely with CCCBL Legal and Customer’s Trustee or Legal Representation on Bankrupty recovery
•    3rd Party Collections – actively administer default collections choosing the outsourced Collection Agency and monitoring successful collection – includes ongoing decision on effectiveness of Agency and choice of Agency
•    Allowance for Doubtful Accounts (AFD) – on a monthly basis review and recalculate the AFDA in partnership with Controller’s Team 
•    Collections – as required directly engage in and support Collection activity

Qualifications

•    Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience required.
•    Minimum 2 - 4 years credit analysis or collection experience required.
•    Experience preferred in commercial or consumer product industries.
•    MS Office experience, specifically Excel and Word.
•    Financial Applications, preferably Accounts Receivable or Customer Master.
•    Credit reporting services experience.
•    Bankruptcies and Liquidations
