About This Opportunity

The Manager, Data Governance & Quality will report to the directly to the Director, Strategic Master Data Solutions with a dotted line supporting relationship to the Director, Advanced Analytics.  The role is principally work from home with time required at the Toronto King St office based on business needs.

This individual will be the lead for identifying, building, integrating, documenting, and cleaning data to enable advanced analytic functions and projects across the Commercial team. Information sets will range from relatively clean and static internal information to external, dynamic, non-clean data from a variety of sources such as customer point-of-sale and loyalty data, government weather, demographics, Google mobility, consumer brand affinity panel information, AC Nielson, shipment information, and more.  This individual will play a critical role in the development of Coke Canada’s analytical journey and will work closely with the Data Engineer in the Advanced Analytics team, our internal IT team, and colleagues in the broader master data team.

This role is dependent on a high level of collaboration to deliver on a significant results-oriented responsibility. This role operates in both direct contribution as well as indirect stewardship. This individual is essential to meeting our future profitable growth goals and those of our customers in a fact-based manner.


Data & Processing

  • Responsible for data collection, cleaning, manual or process driven integration of data sources, and the continued maintenance of external and non-system data and tables
  • Responsible for maintaining and improving data accuracy levels to target
  • Responsible for supporting data hierarchies and providing thought leadership for future development in collaboration with the Data Engineer as well as the overall Advanced Analytics & Strategic Master Data Solution teams
  • Build and maintain a library of data definitions, business uses, sources and connection notes, and other various meta-data elements to support data stewardship processes and enable ongoing data quality routines

IT & Architecture Business Solutions

  • Leverage knowledge and data insights to partner with Data Engineer on solutions for data ingestion and consumption through platforms such as SQL Servers, Azure services, and Power BI
  • Experiment and recommend new technologies that simplify or improve current data ingestion process

Team Management and Coaching

  • A key contact for related tool development suppliers including designers and third-party platform investments
  • Indirect support and coaching for total company analytical initiatives and data science acceleration plans
  • Thought leadership and guidance for the broader team with possibility of managing direct report(s) as the team evolves

Ad-hoc Support and Reporting Management

  • Support requests for both the individual and the team’s analysis 
  • Post-audit and compliance tracking for all projects and routines with accuracy and compliance at the forefront
  • Support ad-hoc requests for deep dives and productivity or process improvement projects
  • Assist in analyzing data, fields, and overall hierarchy to support analytics projects and provide collaborative solutions 

Process Improvement Management Projects

  • Specific assigned accountabilities within routines including project management in the data space, meeting ownership, documentation, cross-functional alignment, and score-carding
  • Development of a continuous list of ongoing process improvement projects, leveraging internal routines to propose charters and lead approved initiatives through to implementation

 Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 
  • Education in a technical field including computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or business an asset
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel (utilizing functions and pivot tables)
  • 3+ years in master data or related fields 
  • 2+ years experience in integrating unrelated large scale data sets with fixed fields
  • Understanding of data science and/or statistics an asset
  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake and/or scripting languages an asset
  • CPG work experience an asset
