About This Opportunity

The business demand for data insights is ever increasing.  As the BI Architect, you will provide leadership and direction for the strategic and tactical operations of Coke Canada’s Business Intelligence (BI) team. You will be responsible for the planning, design, development, deployment, and management of new and existing data warehouse, business intelligence (BI), and analytics solutions. 


Reporting to the Director, Business Intelligence, the BI Architect will be responsible for the following duties, and complete special initiatives and projects as assigned.
 

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise in the development of Analytics and Business Intelligence solutions by assessing client needs and requirements.
  • Architect and implement optimal database schemas and ETL solutions to integrate data from various source systems into integrated cloud-based Enterprise Data Warehouse (Snowflake).
  • Lead architecture and implementation of analytics solutions to develop, enhance and improve analytics and use of data.
  • Coaching & Development of BI Developers – particularly in areas of data transformation, testing and documentation (via dbt cloud) as well as code management and deployment.
  • Assess tools & technology - researches and provides information on emerging technology trends and potential disruptions.
  • Support development, service delivery and implementation – adopt and implement DevOps pipelines.
  • Develop and maintain deployment automations.

Qualifications

  • Post-Secondary degree or diploma in computer science, MIS, or related field – or an acceptable combination of education and relevant experience. 
  • 6+ Years of SQL Development Experience. 
  • 5+ Years of experience with BI Technologies & Enterprise Data Warehouses
  • 3+ Years of experience with cloud data warehouses (such as Snowflake) 
  • Expert Technical Ability / Data Modelling (SAP HANA, Power BI, Microsoft Apps/Azure Suite, SQL). Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. Experience with tabular as well as multi-dimensional modeling. 
  • Hands-on experience with Continuous Deployment practices
  • Advanced practical knowledge of Microsoft Azure DevOps, dbt cloud.
  • Balance multiple, competing priorities effectively, track documentation and deliverables in an organized manner. 
  • Sound knowledge of traditional as well as agile software development methodologies. Strong ability to carry out research and innovation. 
  • Highly effective working in a team, as well as working independently. 
  • English written/spoken required. French an asset
