About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Systems Manager will oversee the optimization of the various activities related to mixing, packaging and storage of Coke Canada products, especially in terms of quality, health, safety and environment. In addition, the Systems Manager is tasked with overseeing operational excellence processes that help raise standards to a world-class level, including providing learning and development opportunities for the facility. 

Responsibilities

  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring that all operations comply with local, national, and international regulations, including food safety, environmental, and labour laws
  • Implementing and maintaining quality assurance systems to ensure product safety and consistency - this includes regular audits and inspections
  • Ensure the continuous improvement of site management systems by regularly coordinating internal and external audits
  • Maintaining accurate records of compliance activities and preparing reports for regulatory bodies and internal stakeholders
  • Conducting training sessions for employees to ensure they understand compliance requirements and best practices
  • Identify potential compliance risks and developing strategies to mitigate them - this includes conducting risk assessments and implementing corrective actions
  • Ensuring that the company’s practices are environmentally sustainable and comply with environmental regulations
  • Managing and investigating compliance-related incidents, ensuring that appropriate corrective actions are taken to prevent recurrence
  • Engaging with regulatory bodies, industry groups, and other stakeholders to stay informed about regulatory changes and best practices
  • Establish strategies that will eliminate wasted time and material loss, as well as lower production costs per case using systems and tools that promote operational excellence
  • Ensure full deployment of identified initiatives in a timely manner
  • Support the business planning process by maintaining data on plant losses and quantifying the savings that could result from improvement projects
  • Identify the major cost reduction projects that should be integrated into the annual business plan
  • Act as a liaison with local and global operational excellence resources to ensure the site always follows established standards for implementing operational excellence initiatives
  • Coordinate the integrated management system to ensure that local programs meet necessary ISO standards and that these programs are continually improved at the plant
  • Ensure that ongoing training and development is aligned with the plant's people strategy and that it is implemented in a way that enables employees to realize their potential
  • Proactively lead the implementation of best practices that improve employee health and safety, development, quality for customers and a constant desire to implement and sustain improvements across the business factory, exerting their influence on the management team and at all levels of the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in administration or in a technical field, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • 3+ years of managerial experience, proven leadership skills in a teamwork environment
  • Be a leader, a good communicator, and be familiar with the application of a collective bargaining agreement in a unionized work environment
  • Ability to look forward to recognize potential issues and create a plan to correct
  • Possess excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and SAP computer tools
