About This Opportunity

Reporting to the National Manufacturing Manager, the Plant Manager is responsible for the overall management and coordination of the various manufacturing functions within a single facility. The candidate must have experience in manufacturing management, enabling him/her to understand the impact of plant performance on delivery, cost, quality and service. This position may require knowledge and deployment of leading-edge manufacturing practices (including continuous flow) as well as quality and continuous improvement techniques, strong analytical and quantitative skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work in a team environment as well as interpersonal effectiveness and leadership. The Plant Manager also plays an active role in labor relations in a unionized environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute short and long-term business plans that support local, regional and national objectives, including the development and implementation of strategies, processes and programs.
  • Ensure the performance of the management team to achieve established goals and increase organizational capacity.
  • Regularly review business results with plant personnel to maximize supply chain performance.
  • Foster a culture of commitment to safety and quality.
  • Demonstrate the behaviors necessary to effectively implement change.
  • Meet the needs and service requirements of internal and external customers. Ensure compliance with corporate and regulatory policies.
     

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field or combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a plant management position, including experience in food or beverage production with high-speed machinery. 
  • Working knowledge of physical and food safety.
  • Bilingual in French and English is essential.
  • Expertise in the principles of manufacturing management in a unionized environment. 
  • Expertise in specific supply chain capabilities, strategies and interdependencies.
