About This Opportunity

As the Distribution Supervisor for Calgary, you will be responsible for leading and managing the work of employees in a unionized, fast paced environment to achieve required productivity, safety and budget objectives.

Please note that this role is a fulltime evening shift position.  The hours are Monday to Friday, 3:00pm – 11:00pm with occasional Saturday and/or morning shifts. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the effective and efficient distribution of product and management of drivers within a specific territory.   
  • Staff, train, evaluate and develop team members.   
  • Ensure adherence to delivery standards, efficiencies and regulatory requirements.   
  • Manages drivers' delivery schedule and hours worked.   
  • Establish and maintain positive customer relationships, resolving customer issues.   
  • Serve as liaison between distribution and sales.  
  • Manage and audit team member's timekeeping.   
  • Manage within labor and OPEX budget.

Qualifications

 

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or experience deemed equivalent
  • Prior experience in distribution, retail, or warehouse required. Beverage industry is preferred.
  • 1+ years experience in consumer products/direct store delivery required
  • 2+ years supervisory experience required
  • Ability to make sound decisions and recommendations based on analytical evaluations
  • Ability to provide leadership, motivation, and training for development of the distribution team
  • Ability to initiate activities and perform duties without direct supervision
  • Possess excellent organization and time-management skills
  • Be familiar with department of transportation regulations
  • Experience managing in a unionized environment is preferred
  • Flexibility to work the day or afternoon shift when required
