About This Opportunity

This position is a key contributor in reporting, monthly profit & loss statement reviews, and annual business planning. This position will be responsible for interpreting, analyzing and reporting on revenue and operating expense trends.  You will analyze historical results for productivity savings initiatives.  You will report out financial and operational metrics to assist the Operations team with better execution.  

 

In this role you will prepare analysis that provides operational insight at both an Operating Unit level as well as across Market Units. You will be involved in the annual budget creation inclusive of full operating expenditure planning for the Brampton market unit.

Responsibilities

•    Prepare, enhance and automate standardized weekly, monthly, quarterly finance, sales and operational reports 
•    Build visualization dashboards with PowerBI to help the business interpret key metrics
•    Assist the Central OU Controller with reporting out impacts of revenue and cost variances versus budget for sales, distribution and warehousing and explaining why the variances occurred
•    Assist in month-end and year-end closing functions that pertain to profit and loss statement management and provide coverage for other team members which includes participating in month end routines inclusive of detailed Profit and Loss analysis for a Market Unit, booking journal entries and performing reconciliations
•    Volume/price/mix analysis on Market Unit and Operating Unit revenue
•    Work with the Brampton Market Unit team in preparing detailed annual budget with business partners and other cross functional teams, scaling and presentation process (creation and delivery)
•    Focus on continual process improvement and ensure compliance and control, create if/as needed, standard procedures and policies to drive efficiencies and savings
•    Develop and maintain solid partnerships with stakeholders including finance counterparts, general managers, operations managers and capability leads
•    Participate and manage ad-hoc projects and other duties as required
•    Resolve and clearly communicate any issues with relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Education
    •    Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting
    •    MBA, CPA preferred

     

    Professional Experience
    •    Minimum one to three years of experience in accounting or finance
    •    Excellent knowledge of PowerBI and Excel (with basic knowledge in VBA)
    •    Excellent analytical approach with an understanding of revenue and spend management 
    •    Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with others
    •    Strong communication and business writing skills
    •    Flexibility to adjust workload and hours when necessary; particularly during budgeting 
    •    SAP experience is preferred
    •    Experience with a National Retail, Wholesale or Manufacturing organization would be considered an asset

    Potential to travel up to 10% of time within Canada.
