As a Distribution Manager, you will report into the Distribution Centre Manager and be based out of Brampton.   The Brampton DC delivers 33 million standard physical cases per annum, operating 24 hours a day 7 days a week to service customers in the GTHA.

 

  In this role, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Leading distribution supervisors, personnel and distribution function
  • Recruitment of Staff, training, evaluation and development of team members   
  • Scheduling of distribution team members to meet the demands of the customer    
  • Leading and managing performance for On Time In Full and Stock Loss for the DC
  • Leading and identify improvement projects for the distribution function
  • Managing within labor and OPEX budget, with a focus on performance improvement initiatives that deliver against targets
  • Collaborate, work as a team, listen, learn and value diversity in all forms
  • Ensure communication of daily plans and compliance to CCCBL and facility policy on OSHA/safety standards and DOT regulations 
  • Ensure commitment to superior customer service 
  • Work with sales, warehouse, fleet & equipment service departments to ensure deliveries are timely, accurate, and efficient 
  • Work with entire DC team supporting initiatives and activities as required to deliver superior performance

 

What you will need to succeed in this role: 

  • Minimum 5-8 years related leadership experience operating in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing or supply chain environment
  • Proven track record of leading teams in excess of 100 associates
  • Post-secondary education in a related field such as, Operations management
  • Experience of leading change and the application of continuous improvement processes in the workplace to deliver performance improvements
  • Knowledge of WHMIS, WSIB, ESA and OHSA legislation
  • Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization, its executive team and customers
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, diplomacy, and tact
  • Experience of partnering with a union and skilled in dispute resolution
  • Excellent planning and resource allocation skills
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office skills (Word and Excel)
